Improvement in sports performance

Brooke 10 year old female

Brooke’s reading has improved a lot.  She reads for fun (wants to read).  There are less reading mistakes and she realizes when she has made a mistake.  Her math has also improved.  Her ringette improved.  She went from goalie to defence to forward.  Once she was a forward she is starting scoring goals.  Her printing and spelling has improved also.

Matthew 8 year old male

Sports (most noticeably hockey) have been much better! He is more outgoing and willing to try harder. As a goalie this has been very important.

Taylor 7 year old female

Taylor used to hate soccer and most sports. It was very frustrating for her, and we did not realize at the time that she had a convergence problem. This year? Soccer was fun and she could block shots on goal, bring the ball up, and shoot on the net. Her confidence and enjoyment of the sport grew exponentially. Also, her sense of balance is excellent now. We noticed it with skiing and even at the playground. So, both hand/eye coordination and balance were greatly improved.

Jonah 7 year old male

His hockey and ball skills have greatly improved. Better eye-hand coordination for sure!!

Nick 11 year old male

Nick has had a lot of improvements in different areas of his life. He has become more outgoing and a little more confident. He is right into playing sports and outdoor activities. When he first started soccer he didn't play well. His coordination and balance were off, and trying to keep track of the ball was really hard. By the end of soccer, he was doing great. He would go after the ball, did great in goal and was having a much better time playing. He has now started rugby and is really liking it. His vision seems to be getting better along with being able to control his eyes a lot better. His handwriting (printing) has improved a lot and he is trying to read more. His grades in school have also improved a little. (He still will need a tutor). He is getting a much improved and positive attitude, and his frustration has reduced as well. We cannot wait to see how much better it will get for him.

Evan 9 year old male

After 6 months of vision therapy. Evan's work at schools continues to improve with respects to his spelling and his ability to focus in class. Letter reversals in his printing are rare now; he still occasionally has some number reversals. He is more efficient at completing his homework as well.

Evan's piano teacher has reported that his ability to read the notes is getting better and better. Although this can still be difficult at times he does not rely solely on playing by ear as he did before.

We also continue to notice improvements in Evan's hand-eye coordination. His ability to handle and shoot the puck at hockey continues to improve. When he was playing catch with his Dad last week, Evan was able to catch the ball in his glove with ease and consistently. This is a great improvement over last year at this time. Evan demonstrates an increased interest in al sports and is now also playing basketball at school and football at recess with his friends.

We are so pleased with Evan's progress this far. It has been a lot of work and a big commitment but seeing the results keeps us going.

Great job Evan!!! And thank you, thank you, thank you to Dr. Neufeld!

Michael 8 year old male

Since I have been in eye therapy, hockey has improved. My stick handling is way better. I have become a better hockey player.
